Team Building Activities For The Office

Team Building Activities For The Office

Improving communication and trust between co-workers can result from seeing what they are like outside of the office and the normal work environment. Team-bonding is a great way to get to know your co-workers as your “work family” instead of just people you work with and spend 40+ hours per week with. Communication, trust, and care are the foundations for a great office environment. If you are in charge of team-building activities and ideas for your office, here are a few ways to tackle them:

  1. Find a community event to participate in together. Local charities are always looking for volunteer groups to help out with events, gathering donations, and seeking extra help. Find a local charitable cause within your office’s community in which everyone can agree to lend a helping hand. Helping out together as a team is a great way to improve many skills and bonding on a team!
  2. Weekly happy hour night with co-workers. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying a drink or two with co-workers at the end of the week! Find a local happy hour spot with something for everyone to enjoy. (Ex. board games, beer tasting, karaoke night, happy hour specials, bingo, trivia night… etc)
  3. A catered lunch and  breakfast every month. Catered food is always something to look forward to! Plan out the date, decide on the meals, and let everyone have something to look forward to.
  4. A fun night out with the team. Give the team a night per month or per quarter for fun and games! (Ex. Top golf, bowling, arcade/food and drinks, laser tag events, roller skating, ice skating…etc)
  5. Themed meetings. Turn a boring meeting into a themed meeting once per month!
  6. Office potluck. Everyone bring in their specialty dish for lunch and get a taste of what everyone likes.
