- Never miss a networking opportunity. Look for networking events in your area that you and your business would benefit from. You never know what kind of connections you can make and who can learn about your business.
- Attend as many conferences as you can. Conferences, trade shows, expos, conventions…etc. These are the greatest ways to learn while making connections. Meet other businesses like yours and meet other people who work in the same field as you. These are the best opportunities.
- Follow up with people. Met someone and made a great connection? Did you exchange business cards? If so, follow up with them via email. Tell them how great it was to meet them and set up another time to chat about your networking opportunities together.
- Remember people’s names! This is KEY for following up with someone. If you don’t remember their name, do some research on their company on LinkedIn and social media to find out.
- Plan events for your business. Plan to go to local events together, volunteer in the community, donate time and money to a local organization to help those in need, and take the time to show these events on your business’s social media networks.
- Travel for business. Meet with new and possible clients as often as possible.
- Always dress for the part. This might sound cliché, but always look your best when going out. You never know who you might meet!
