Shoppable posts are changing the way your customers shop online. Social media has changed the way people shop and what they buy. Your customers love your posts and before shoppable posts they had no way of directly buying what’s in your post. So long “link in bio” posts, hello shoppable posts.
Instagram is now becoming less of a social media platform and more of a direct shopping and ecommerce platform. Your business is important to you and shoppable posts are what will help you reach your sales and traffic goals.
Here are the 5 W’s of Instagram shoppable posts:
- WHO – Business accounts, online retailers, ecommerce brands, and any seller who sells online should be using Instagram shoppable posts. Instagram limited at first who could tag products in their photos, but now anyone who has a product catalog associated with their business account can tag their products in posts.
- WHAT – Set up your product catalog via Facebook business manager. Remember, Instagram is parented by Facebook now. Facebook will let you upload your product catalog directly from your ecommerce site (such as Shopify). When your products are tagged in a post, a little white shopping bag will appear in the post as the customer taps the image.
- WHEN – Whenever your posts contain your products, use shoppable posts!
- WHERE – Instagram posts and stories! You can also tag your products in stories. Just tap the sticker adding icon in the top right and click the product button. You can also change the way the product name and sticker is displayed.
- WHY – Customers will easily be able to shop your products directly from a post and story. Now instead of just liking a post, they can shop the products in it with ease.
